Update: I almost always continue tweaking a Photoshop, even after it has been posted. Decided the perspective wasn't realistic: the boat is really a small ship and needs to appear bigger in the scene. Fixed it.
Update 2: I decided the ship needed a name, so gave it the name of the USS Constitution. Both the ship and its document namesake appear to be equally neglected and abandoned today. Also -- added a couple of flying gulls to give some more motion (other than that of the waves).
Update 3: I found some more realistic brushes for making rain and rain splatter, so replaced the rain.
Now I think we have a Photoshop with a subtle message, giving an impression of passing time, neglect and decay, with the ship's name and the general condition of the ship saying everything.
Somebody Stop Me!! Now I'm just getting corny -- added some lightning, which isn't inconsistent with the general mood of conservatives over the ruination of the Constitution. You learn Photoshop by doing, by experimenting, by trying different effects, and that's partly why I do them -- to get good at it. Also, it's fun!
Now I think I'll add a skeleton laying in the sand, wearing a pirate's hat and clutching an old rusty cutlass. Or maybe a big crab, to symbolize Nancy Pelosi. Just kidding. Part of successful Photoshopoing is knowing when to quit. Use freely.
